Two-lane streets. Relaxed outdoor cafes. Quiet art galleries. Palm trees.
This is my tiny neighborhood in little Delray Beach, Florida. Picturesque!
Except for one thing: the two roundabouts in our streets are known as The Devils’ Crossings. These two circles fuel one’s inner Mario Andretti: yield to no one, stop at your own risk, press on the accelerator, and close your eyes. That is the trick to navigating this gift from City Management.
Thrill seekers from across Palm Beach County come to do battle at our infamous roundabouts, and pedestrians enter at their own risk.
